Is Brentwood considered part of Section 8 housing???

How would your neighbor find out if you are accepting
section 8 if you are in a a single family home? Is this information confidential?

The Contra Costa County Housing Authority lists the houses that are available as Section 8 rentals on their website. I don't know why anyone thinks that this information should be private? When a person accepts government handouts the people who are paying for them (TAXPAYERS!) have every right to know the details of what they are paying for and how much.

Remember the director of housing Rudy Tamayo doesn't live in the ghetto. If he did then he will realize that Antioch is not high quality. See their mission statement below. This place is full of crime, trash, droopy pants, suburban plight. He should move these people to Lafayette/Brentwood or Orinda or next to him where life there is "high quality"

I have never heard a bunch of ignorance in my life, is Brentwood a Section 8 city, yes. It has been for years. Just like every city in California. Section 8 does not pay enough to pay a person full mortgage, you all need to check your facts before you post any comments. I am a home owner in Brentwood, I rent my home out to section 8 because I am guaranteed to get my money for rent and for any repairs that is need once a tenant moves out. I have several rental properties that I rent out on section 8; I have not had a problem. Just because someone is on section 8 does not mean they are criminals or more likely to committ a crime. My tenants all have jobs and work hard to have the kind of life we all should have without the ecomonic or racial difference. Brentwood and Antioch have a high crime rate because you have a lot of folks moving from all over the bay area and central valley into a city where housing is affordable. Most folks in Brentwood and Antioch believe that most of the people on section 8 are African Americans, when in fact 90 percent of African Americans who live in those areas own their homes. Section is a program federally fund by the state of California, it is a program the can not be stopped. Section 8 tenants can be your average joe who works and goes to school, they can also be a stay at home mom. What ever the case my be the program was designed to help those in need, but I will say the program could stand to make some changes. Brentwood does in fact have an housing authority, it just isn't located in Brentwood, but its in Martinez along with other cities in one central location. People please know your facts its very easy to assume something that is not true and you know what they say when we assume.
