Teen parties aren't that bad if the teens learn to party like adults.They can get a little wild without having someone getting shot all the damn time. that's why people have problems with them these days. Or 5 guys beating one guy to near death. We know problems are everywhere but what we're concerned about is how people from very low income areas come to an area where families work to jobs to pay their morgages and have the HuD s8's move next door and not have to move regardless of what economy it is. Or why they get homes in the 3500 a month range. That's what people are bitching about. That's to much money for the Government to be handing out for free. and remember, the more kids the more money because each kid on top of free rent gets 250-300 dollars a month for their support. For some moms that an Estate property home with an additional 1200 bucks a month or more in spending cash. That for some is a BMW in the driveway (because you can lease them for 400 a month) and money for alcohol and drugs if they chose and many chose. Also, selling drugs out of the house. Allowing their children to be involved in their drug dealings. and growing pot out in the garage. Also subleasing to people (Illegal) and allow them to pay rent and live in the garage. This happens over and over again as families don't get any kind of bailout for their morgage issues and lose their homes they've lived in for 10-15 years. That's what people are angry about. I don't see Antioch as a Ghetto i see the Ghetto flooding the city.

The suspect, believed to be a man in his early 20s, entered the store at 1888 Contra Costa Blvd. shortly before 2 p.m., police said.

The suspect fled the store on foot and was last seen running into a parking lot near Washington Mutual and Safeway Inc., police seen.
The suspect is described as a black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build, medium skin tone and short hair, and was last seen wearing a red bandana, red shirt and baggy blue jeans, police said.
On Oct. 23, two suspects, one armed with a handgun, entered the same MetroPCS store and demanded cash and merchandise from a teller, police said.
Those suspects also fled the scene on foot and were described as two black men, one in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall and wearing black clothing. The other was reportedly in his late teens, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and wearing black clothing as well.

It's pretty crazy when Pleasant Hill or W/C is getting more and more of this crap. Nowhere is safe anymore. Maybe I will just stay in Antioch. All day we had beautiful blue skies. How many places in the world have blue skies 320 days out of the year (if not more). It's almost winter and it's still in the 70s here. I went out an hour ago at 11pm and it felt like it was still close to 70 degrees. We have LA weather in Antioch most of the year round but it's as cheap to live here as it is in Omaha Nebraska. this place is a steal and if people who have money would invest in Antioch it would help drive our local economy. This is a great town with great realestate deals.

The Antioch gangs are saying that before Obama, Antioch was wild west anarchy. Now with Obams they are saying Antioch is now theirs completely for the taking and the taxes of the middle class working families are the resource for them. You work, they get welfare, they vandalize your car that you use to commute to work to pay for their welfare. Enjoy Obama's spread the wealth!

There is white trash, black trash, hispanic trash, asian trash, and other trash. The trash in every city in America needs to be taken out and disposed of properly.

The weather was nice today. Warm, not to hot. How many cities in America get blue skies like 320 days a year?
I'm surprized this area isn't more desired.

Ok final straw..... went to my bank WAMU and was greeted by bulletproof glass between me and the tellers...... somehow I felt like I should have been in Oakland instead of Antioch..... What is this city becoming?

Antioch is a dump and your wal-mart smells like urine. But the one comment I would like to make is after reading some of these post I have to ask, why do people walk in front of cars and walk slow in Antioch? This is funny I was on lone tree at the stop light by walmart. The light was red for a long time. I saw two kids j walk, one darted across the road with his bike and the other was walking his bike. The one walking his bike stopped in middle of the road he was about 60 feet in front of me and he just stood there as if waiting for the light to turn green. the light just didnt turn green so he started walking slow across the road. Finaly the light turned green and he keep walking slow. I thought maybe he hurt his ankle or something, but when he got to the sidewalk he jumped on his bike and took off. what loser I guess.

I hate when they do that. they do it at burger king on LTW as well.
Place a video camera in your grill just in case these jerks jump in front of you and you can't stop. At least it will show the police that he did it with total disregard to public safety.

man, if you were in the same situation where jobs were scarce, you were poor, you'd work the system too. lets quit blaming the people and blame the developers, banks ,and hell probably even city council members, who are making a killing off of displacing poor people.

did you ever wonder why these people would move in mass from oakland to antioch?

its because their low income housing gets torn down to build condos for yuppies, so that property values there can raise.

and if those signs are real, find out who put them up there. im sure itd probably be some people making tons of money off of this too.

the problem isnt the poor people.

poor folks didnt build all of these houses, they didnt destroy the economy with predatory lending, making people show no proof of income for loans. poor folks are doing what they have to do to survive, yes even if that means working the system.

they didn't tear down the housing tenaments.

people made concious decisions, we have to find out who those people are, and hold them accountable.

To be honest. growing up in the 90's in antioch i never heard of anything bad. ever. and now after completing high school and my mom actually teaching at the all to infamous deer valley hs, i have heard and experienced all the trash this city now has to offer. countless times ive seened people jumped, robbed, and messed with for no reason aside from the fact that the attack half was from oakland or richmond. They literally bus these hoodlum "kids" which thet shouldnt be reffered to as to the schools because they try to offer them a better education. when in reality it is hurting our antioch residents when these animals are shipped in. they come in disrupting classes, causing chaos and a bunch of other crap and its ridiculous. hell at work the other day i had a knife pulled on me for a damn x box. and the next day my friends truck was stolen out of his driveway... this city is hell.. i recommend for anyone who can to up and leave as soon as possible.
