His next court date isn't until 2009. He said he would play for free and donate his minimum league salary for children to attend games. If the Diamondbacks don't like what they get, then cut him. Chances are he will make almost the whole line-up better.

I love Barry Bonds, even though he had some steriod issues, he was and is an amazing batter. Steroids or not, you morons out there who want to scalp Barry, probably don't know which end of the bat to hold to hit the ball. Hand / eye co-ordination, timing, those things cannot be bought. He is the real thing - GO BARRY BONDS!! At least you have one Giants fan, who thinks you are terrific!

King BArry, can do not wrong in my mind. He sold out Pac Bell and AT&T Park.

I think that seeing Bonds on a team other than the Giants would ruin his legacy

He's on his way out.... No one wants him.... He's just one of those non-team players who now has a big 'L' tatooed on his steroid enhanced forehead.

The team's winning average was over .100 points higher in the games that he played as opposed to the ones he didn't. If the Giants winning average was at least .100 points higher this year, they wouldn't have the 6th worst record in baseball. Instead they would be in first place. I thought a team player is one that helped their team win. Barry would still do that for any team.

If he had just admitted what he did, and apologized, he'd be playing right now. Like Clemens, they both think they are bigger than the game. Now they are both out of work and possibly out of Cooperstown. Worse than that, both might be in jail next year. Could Barry help a team, of course. Was he a great player before doubling his hat size, yes. But the game is trying to move as far away from performance enhancing drugs as they can, and no team wants to bring it back to the forefront. I know SF Giants fans still love him because Mays and Bonds are their entire history. I am a Red Sox fan. I loved Clemens even after he went to the Yankees. It was a great feeling of pride to think that we had one of the greatest players of all time for over 10 years. Now I'm disgusted. Part of being a fan of a team is to see past the individual players. Barry has shamed your team, he's shamed the game, he's shamed Hank and Willie and all the players who did it the right way. The more you support him, the more Bay Area sports looks like a joke to the rest of the country. Even Pac Bell took down all the signs of Barry, a little hypocritical, but appropriate.

What makes me disgusted about the game is how much the perception is different from the reality. I talked to a former professional trainer that says in the day over 70% of hitters were taking PED's and over 50% of the pitchers. He says over 95% of football players are taking HGH. I'm sure the number is very high in baseball since it can't be detected. As far as the apology goes, they mean very little if you are only apologizing when you get caught. When the players are apologizing, they usually lied and said they only tried it once. Tejada is in the same legal trouble as Bonds, but he signed a 3 year contract. Bud Selig not only removed Jose Guillen's suspension, but he was put on the all star voting this year with a .270 average. The Bottom line is Selig and his owners think that if they keep Bonds out of the game, there will be people who think the game is now cleaned up. The sad thing is there are enough people like Steve that believe it.
