CINCINNATI Jim Zorn's face was drained, as if he'd just walked away from a car crash but wasn't sure how much damage he might discover if he looked back over his shoulder.
'Hi, everybody,' he said quietly and without sarcasm, just a smart, decent man thrown in over his head too soon and showing up, doing his duty to explain a horrible day at the office, a 20-13 loss to the awful 'Bungles' that someday may be Exhibit A in the case against him keeping his job.

In a Rush, Opponents Have Figured Out How to Defend the Redskins
BALTIMORE
A month ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers created a template for beating up the Washington Redskins at the line of scrimmage, using the variations of their 3-4 scheme to confuse and bludgeon Washington's beleaguered offensive line.
It worked so well that Dallas copied it in Washington's next game, using its hybrid ends/linebackers to manhandle quarterback Jason Campbell with similar results. The New York Giants did the same last week, and the Baltimore Ravens' aggressive defense pounded away on the theme last night at M&T Bank Stadium, taking control of the game on the opening drive. The Ravens suffocated the Redskins with zone blitzes and overloads, winning 24-10 with Campbell (60.4 passer rating) hit or hurried all night.

Knee Forces Samuels To Take It Day by Day
After completing his afternoon workout yesterday at Redskins Park, Pro Bowl left tackle Chris Samuels briefly relaxed and reflected before practice. Samuels has remained in the lineup despite an injured right knee, hoping to cope with the pain long enough to help Washington earn an NFC playoff berth.
Coach Jim Zorn, however, has expressed doubt about whether Samuels -- the Redskins' top offensive lineman -- would complete the season, and the nine-year veteran has preferred to focus on things one day at a time. With a once-promising season threatening to slip away, Samuels is among many team leaders who have taken on more responsibility as Washington begins its final four-game stretch.
